 Meet Our Team Asher B. Carey, M.D. Dr. Carey is a native of southern Delaware and has been serving the cosmetic and plastic surgery needs of patients in Dover and Lewes and surrounding communities for more than 20 years. Double Boarded in both General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Dr. Carey works with you to achieve a natural and healthy look. He is an advocate of minimum scar surgery for most procedures, including forehead and face lifts, tummy tucks, and breast enlargement and reduction. Dr. Carey received his undergraduate degree from Duke University and his medical degree from Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He completed a residency in general surgery at Tulane University, a plastic surgery residency at Vanderbilt University, and special training abroad with international leaders in cranial and facial surgery. In his spare time, Dr. Carey is a sculptor. He brings his fine eye for graceful shaping to both his profession and his hobby. Cindy Carey Cindy Carey is a native of New Orleans, Cindy worked as a critical care nurse at Charity Hospital and at Vanderbilt Medical Center. She is an active member of the Society of Plastic Surgery Skin Care Specialists, and a nurse volunteer for the American Red Cross. She treasures time with her husband and four children. Music is a passion they all share, and she likes to maintain balance throught the practice and study of martial arts. Cindy welcomes you to visit her new state-of-the-art facility at Eden Medical Center. Susan Hudson, Office Coordinator Susan Hudson has more than 20 years experience working in physician practices. Her main concern is with making sure that the entire office runs smoothly and that patient access is met with the utmost efficiency and respect. Not only is she a patient advocate when it comes to dealing with insurers, she also makes sure that patients understand their financial obligations once they decide to have a procedure at The Center. Susan is always takes time to work with you to ensure the best possible experience at the Carey Cosmetic Surgery Center. Kim Matyniak Kim Matyniak is a native of Lancaster, PA. She is an LPN and has worked as a family practice nurse for 20 years and for an endoscopy unit for 3 years. Having excelled in both of these areas, Kim now focuses her individual attention to details and to each patient's needs in the specialized area of plastic and cosmetic surgery. She and her husband live in Smyrna and have two daughters. Her family loves spending time at the beach and spoiling their dogs. Kim's hobbies include looking for sea glass, antiquing, gardening and tennis. Terri Byrnes, Patient Services/Receptionist Terri Byrnes is dedicated to making each patient welcome to the Carey Cosmetic Surgery Center by promptly answering each call and inquiry as well as welcoming you upon your arrival to The Center. When scheduling your appointment, she is careful to make sure that the appointment is at your convenience. She coordinates our schedules so that the office runs as efficiently as possible. If you are a new patient, Terri will mail you information about the practice as well as educational materials relating to your particular interest or need. She is one of our patient education specialist and she always makes sure we stay in touch with you, and is available to answer any questions.
