Restylane®
Restylane® is a non-animal, biodegradable gel based on hyaluronic acid. Because it is non-animal based, there is virtually no allergic reaction. This also eliminates pre-testing to determine any allergic reaction. Restylane® provides volume and fullness to the skin and has been proven to last longer than collagen injections. The most common use of Restylane® is to shape facial contours, smooth wrinkles, fill-in folds and depressions and sculpt lips.
The actual treatment is very brief. Restylane® injections can take anywhere from a few minutes to half an hour, depending on the amount of the area that needs to be treated. Dr. Carey uses a very fine needle to inject tiny amounts of Restylane® into the skin. For wrinkles, Restylane® produces natural volume under the wrinkle, which lifts it up and smoothes it out. For facial contours, Restylane® corrects deep folds and lifts up the skin from cheeks and chin. Lip augmentation with Restylane® involves injecting the gel into the upper and lower lips, and along the lip line. Not only will this help bring about a more youthful look, it can also help prevent lipstick from bleeding into the small lines around the lips. |
